Composio

Hundreds of tools, with auth already handled.

Protocols and tools

Much of the work in agent tooling is OAuth. Composio maintains integrations for hundreds of services and handles the auth flow, so your agent can act in GitHub, Slack or Gmail without you building token refresh.

Reach for it when

  • Your agent needs to act in third party SaaS tools
  • You do not want to build and maintain OAuth flows
  • You want managed integrations rather than writing each one

Look elsewhere when

  • Your tools are all internal
  • You would rather not add a third party to the auth path

Common questions

Is Composio free to use?

Composio is open source and free to run yourself. You still pay whichever model provider you point it at, and this tutorial is free with no signup.

Do I need to know Python to use Composio?

Basic Python is enough. Functions, dictionaries and imports cover most of what Composio asks of you.

When should I not use Composio?

Your tools are all internal. You would rather not add a third party to the auth path.

Lessons for Composio are being written. Meanwhile the Agent Governance Toolkit tutorial covers the same ground: state, tools, loops, memory and human approval. Most of it carries straight over.
